How to prepare sencha
Szencsa-készítés

<1> Quantity of tea leaves: Two heaping tablespoons ( about 10 g )
Két evőkanál tealevél (kb. 10 g)

Place the 2 heaping tablespoons of tea leaves into a teapot ( kyusu ). This may seem to be too much, however, this should be the amount used. For one serving use the above as the minimum amount of tea leaves.
Tegyünk két evőkanál szencsa-levelet egy kjúszu teáskannába. Bármennyire is soknak tűnik, ennyi kell egy főzethez.

This is the approximate volume of one heaping tablespoons of tea leaves.
Please use two heaping tablespoons of this size.

<2>In a tea cup allow the proper amount of boiling water to cool

To bring out the sencha's characteristic flavor, the hot water should be about 80 degrees C. Pour the boiling water into a tea cup and after pour the water into the teapot (kyusu). It is not necessary to use a thermometer to reach the correct temperature. As you are able to warm the tea cup at the same time you "kill two birds with one stone"
A levelek kilúgozása 80 °C-os vízzel történik. Ezért először egy teáscsészébe töltsük a forrásban lévő vizet, csak azután a kjúszuba.

The quantity of water is about 80% of the tea cup's volume. Pour the hot water into a tea cup.

Slowly pour the hot water from the tea cup into the teapot (kyusu).

<3> Brewing time: approximately 1 minute from pouring the hot water into the teapot (kyusu)

1 minute Try not to shake the teapot (kyusu) and wait for 1 minute. When the lid of the teapot (kyusu) becomes warm it is ready.
Nem kell rázni a teáskannát. Várjunk egy percig, ha a fedő átmelegedett, kész.

Do not shake the teapot ( kyusu ) as it will make the tea bitter and cloudy. Please wait and allow the flavors to develop.

For a second serving, it is not necessary to wait.
As the tea leaves are open, please pour the hot water immediately into the teapot (kyusu) and do not wait to pour into the tea cups.

<4> Now, it is time; extract all the tea - to the last drop.

Now, it is time To appreciate all the flavors that are concentrated in the tea use all the tea in the teapot (kyusu) to the very last drop. For a second delicious serving of tea, make sure that there is no water left in the pot after the first serving.
